“A man of a right spirit is not a man of narrow and private views, but is greatly interested and concerned for the good of the community to which he belongs and the true welfare of society.”
-Jonathan Edwards
It seems no matter what I pick up to read today, I am finding a theme.
“I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”
1 Timothy 2:1-2
I’m not sure why but I sense an extra urgency to pray for our president today. I know there is a lot of controversy surrounding him right now, but our God is big.
“The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD; he directs it like a watercourse wherever he pleases.” Proverbs 21:1
May we direct our energy and even discernments toward intercession that we may see the Lord’s purposes accomplished in our nation.
